Enduring Understandings
At the end of the lessons, students should have a basic understanding of the following concepts:
1. All animals live in a habitat.
2. A habitat provides for an animal's basic needs, including the need for food, water and shelter.
3. Many plants and animals cannot survive outside of their natural habitats.
4. Deforestation removes trees from an environment and affects all the animals and plants that depend on the trees to meet their needs.
5. Preservation helps to protect the environment.
