STEM Careers: Botanist

Botanists study plants. They look for answers to questions about how plants can be used for food, what diseases hurt plants, and how people use plants for medicine.

Meet Kyle Wallick.

"As botanist at the U.S. Botanic Garden, my skills in plant biology and other related sciences come into play each day to help inform the public about the proper naming of plants. It's important to be accurate because my signs are read by visitors every single day!" —Kyle Wallick, Botanist, United States Botanic Garden.
